It Started With a Mouse

A well-overdue introduction —

WELL, 300 posts and 260+ followers in.. I figured it was about time that I introduce myself :)

My name is Aimee, I’ll be 19 this month, and I just finished my first year of college :) !

I’ve taken countless trips to Disneyland since I was five, and my first step into the magic kingdom led me into Mickey’s arms. He was literally right where you cross into Main Street from the entrance, and I ran up and hugged him. I’ve been in love with the movies, the characters, the music, and the magic ever since. Throughout the past several years I have learned how to really appreciate the art and music of every Disney film I’ve seen, as well as the sights and sounds of Disneyland. There aren’t even words to describe how much I adore Disney…it makes my heart so full that I think it could literally burst. Unfortunately I have never been to Walt Disney World, or any of the other parks besides the California ones, because I am located on the west coast.

I mentioned earlier that I just finished my first year of college (woo! =] ). I am currently studying biology, specifically molecular and cellular biology. It is in my interests to at least pursue a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Those are my short term goals. My long term goals are possibly medical school or doing cancer research in a lab. Possible specializations that I am interested in are neurology, oncology, and dermatology.

I love mostly every type of music, from Tchaikovsky to Taylor Swift to Frank Sinatra and Adele. You’ll find me listening to mostly oldies, and Disney music of course. Josh Groban is my absolute favorite artist.

I work at a 50’s diner, locally owned and operated. I’ve worked there for over three years, and am blessed to have amazing managers and bosses, who were first my friends, so they are really more like family now than coworkers. I love all of the friends that I’ve made there, especially the frequent regulars that come in. I think everyone should wait tables once in their life…you really learn how to organize your time, be more open-minded, be people-friendly, and multitask well. I honestly love my job, and I put everything I have into it when I’m there. The only downsides to being so optimistic about working is when you’re with others who aren’t so optimistic…I guess I just don’t understand why people get jobs if they aren’t willing to work hard.

I am clearly in love with photography, since most of this blog is filled with my original photography. I enjoy digital, but what I really love is SLR. I have an old Pentax SLR that I used for a couple years, but now I no longer have access to a dark room. It would be a dream to get back into a dark room!

This turned out to be a very very long introduction, and if you’ve stuck by for this long then you are just the best :). I’m so happy that I have been able to reach so many people and share my love with you all for the past couple of weeks. I have to say that I’m surprised by the success that I’ve had so far…but also not really because there are so many people who share this same love :).

I’ll be a little MIA in the next week… I am getting ready for my next trip to Disney, a birthday celebration with my best friend. However, I’ll try to keep up a little during the days that I am still home.

I LOVE your questions, and I love answering them…so keep filling up my inbox! Also, if you have any requests for photos for me to take while I am at the California parks, submit them to the ask box! I guarantee it’s something that I will want to see as well! I’m so looking forward to getting to know my followers better, and reaching out to more people! The link to my personal blog is on the left hand side of this page, as well as the hidden mickeys blog that I am a part of. Check them out!

Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day! <3
